Have you ever wanted to be a commander on a starship bridge? You might be able to sooner than you think! A new Kickstarter – called Hail – has been launched. Hail is described as a “bridge simulator”, and it will put you in the command of a starship bridge of your own. Each scenario in Hail, will present the player with different problems that can be solved with others via video chat.
The following excerpt is from Hails Kickstarter page:
“The core premise of Hail is simple. Each episode will begin with a scenario setup, think of the captain’s log from Star Trek. After the initial setup you and a friend on another ship will be left to deal with a challenge based on the collective yet limited resources of your two ships. You will discuss those capabilities over the main viewer and devise a plan to execute and progress the story utilizing your own unique strategies and tactics.”
For the project to be funded, it will have to reach a whopping $100,000 before January 12.
The Kickstarter page can be found here.
It sounds like a pretty nice idea, especially if you are a Star-Trek fan. I bet that there are plenty of people who have always wanted to get the opportunity to run a starship. The Kickstarter page also mentions that, “there are limitless possibilites for story telling, role-play, cooperative puzzle solving and great conversation”. In other words – it will be a role-players wet dream.
What do you think? Would you like to be a starhip bridge commander in Hail?
