Marvel Vs. Capcom: Origins To Be Removed From Xbox Live

Marvel Vs. Capcom: Origins To Be Removed From Xbox Live

Capcom have announced earlier in the week that it’s downloadable classic Marvel Vs. Capcom: Origins is to be removed from the Xbox Live Store at the end of the month (31st December 2014). No reasons have been stated by Capcom on the decision to pull the game but it is our understanding it may be down to licensing issues. It makes sense financially as it isn’t worth the money to renew licenses if the game isn’t selling too well. So If you are one of the people like myself who has been eyeing the game up for a long time but never got around to purchasing…. Then now is your time to act before it’s too late.

Old School CRPG, Akalabeth Is Free Forever on GOG

Old School CRPG, Akalabeth Is Free Forever on GOG

Only few people can bring a member of the PC Master Race to their knees in reverence. Richard Garriott AKA Lord British is one of those people. For the uninitiated, Lord British is the godfather of the CRPG genre. The man created the Ultima series for Gaben’s sake. Today GOG announced that his first game, Akalabeth: World of Doom will be free forever on their service. Meanwhile a collection of Ultima games will be 80% off until the day after Christmas. Akalabeth: World of Doom was created 35 years ago, and was heavily influenced by Dungeons & Dragons. The game is seen  as a blueprint for future CRPG’s, and it’s often referred to as Ultima 0 since the Ultima series is a descendant of the game. Akalabeth: World of Doom is available on Linux, Windows, and Mac.  If you are an RPG fan who is part of the PC Master Race there ...

The Book Of Unwritten Tales 2 Preview

King Art Games are known for their point and click adventures and from what I’ve played of The Book of Unwritten Tales 2 this game is no exception. I was recently lucky enough to be able to play the first chapter the game and it has been one of the more enjoyable point and click games that I’ve played. The part of the game I was able to play was split into two parts, the first had you working to find out why the princess Ivo was ill and the second part has you playing as Professor Wilbur Weathervane completing cleaning tasks for the headmaster of the school that he works at. I won’t go into much detail about these two different sections so that I don’t ruin the game for you. Neither of these two parts of the story may sound that fun to play on paper but when ...

Eurogamer Kickstarter: Poncho

Eurogamer Kickstarter: Poncho

I Played a variety of indie games at this years Eurogamer event and Poncho was one of these. The game is a platformer in which the main character Poncho is searching to find his maker. The most interesting thing about the game was the mechanic which allows you to shift backwards and forwards between the background, foreground and middle layers of the games world, the inclusion of this mechanic makes the game different to a lot of other games in the same genre and also adds another interesting layer to the overall gameplay, the mechanic takes a little bit of time to get used too but once you do you quickly find yourself jumping backwards and forwards between the three layers in the world and being able to explore all that the world has to offer. According to the games Kickstarter page there are no levels in the game and ...
